

It's usually not just the sight of something that makes me want to photograph it.
It's everything that goes along with it: the way it smells or tastes, the weight of it, the way the wind moves it.
My curiosity about objects and experiences becomes a compulsion.Taking pictures is my attempt to satisfy this compulsion.
A professor once told me that to photograph something well, you must either love it or hate it...have feelings for it one way or the other. I think this is true.
When I study something hard enough or look long enough, I develop a need to understand it, and a desire to communicate it.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art and a Master's in Photojournalism from the University of Missouri.
